This government is doing its best to dissuade me from paying tax.

It is spending my and other taxpayers’money to prop up bankrupt private enterprise and to boost earnings of backbenchers and nonentities with dubious qualifications.

Joseph Muscat justified handing over Eur4,200,000 of our money to Cities Entertainment by saying that mistakes were made in rush to get things done.

Procedural, not political mistakes, he said.

Hell, when I made mistakes in a rush to get things done, I was heavily penalized by Joseph Muscat's predecessors and paid through the nose for my mistakes, which like Muscat’ s were procedural.

Muscat “apologizes”, says that the government, not he, has learnt from its mistakes, and moves on to the next obscenity.

The switchers, who handed our and our children's lives to him for the next 8 years, will not admit that they were conned and the plebs who suck at the public teat, the new mittel kless, deify him “ghax rahhas il-kontijiet tad-dawl”.

Whatever money they save, they spend on false nails, tattoos, drugs and drink.

He gives them bread and circuses and they give him standing ovations.

Muscat pays backbenchers like that turnip Silvio Parnis and other hangers-on thousands of euros of our money to chair or sit on low yield committees.

Some after paying 15% tax (these are part-time positions) take home a lot more money than he or any of his ministers do, without any of the responsibilities that come with the latter’s positions.

If I were in their place, I would be very pissed off, but do you hear any complaints? No.

Which leads me to suspect that there must be a common trough somewhere where these pigs dip their snouts.

Ghax intom pepè. Bhal Silvio Parnis dak il-pepè Slimiz.

Let us recap: we've got Gozo The Region, we've got The South, so where does that leave the Middle?

It's always the middle that's forgotten: the Thinking Middle, the squeezed middle, the generation-in-the-middle (the class of 1980), the linguistic middle (the non-pepè English speakers), the socio-cultural middle (the non-pepè non-hamalli).

Who'll speak for them?
