Joseph Muscat and the Italian Minister (the name escapes me now) were praising each other for all the work they are doing to rescue the migrants.

As soon as Muscat went off air, Salvini of Lega Nord said (not the exact words) how rich it is that the Maltese prime minister applauds the Italian government and says that it is doing a great job when Malta often refused to take in migrants and took others to Italy instead.

He backed up his comments with dates and numbers of migrants refused by Malta or taken to Italy by Malta.

Muscat must have been grateful he was off air since he would have been placed in a very tight spot.

”In an interview following his resignation, Mr Pace had said that he, along with a health ministry official – identified the Northumbria University nursing school – to open up shop in Malta to help deal with the shortage of skills of nurses in Malta. This had been confirmed by Health Minister Konrad Mizzi in an interview a week later. However, Dr Mizzi said that the government was leaving all its options open as to which foreign nursing school would finally be chosen.”

”Ms Cutajar said that there were two other potential suitors, but once negotiations started with Northumbria, the government felt that it is best they continue with this school.”
