I’m not into compliments. I am the diametric opposite of your average Maltese person who shrivels up and dies without them and who is always out there seeking them and craving more.

It’s my idea of hell.

This is supposed to be a forum for literate people. If you like something, say why. Don’t ask for the Like button.

That wasn’t praise. That was actually offensive. It takes time and trouble to write a blog-post and then people want to click ‘Like’, as though I’ve uploaded a Facebook photo of my breakfast.

Most parents support their children, Mr Spiteri. It doesn’t justify embarrassing a grown man by telling him his parents must be proud. Stick to his actual achievements. Making his parents proud is not one of them. That’s a by-product. Would you tell a man of 40 that his parents must be so proud? No, you wouldn’t. Well, then.
