Maybe I’m getting too old. When they fail to milk you they get annoyed with you and become rude.

Back here in Malta just this morning I was stopped abruptly. A car simply braked in front of me while crossing the road. A young man asked me for directions. I replied.

No ‘thank you’ or ‘grazzi’. Barely a nod and he drove off.

Seeing this video again I see a common thread in all of this. A Mediterranean attitude that is pervasively anti social, tribal and self-serving to a self-destructive extreme.
