Oh, so you were referring to Petra Caruana Dingli. I thought your oblique remark was about Simone Mizzi, who accepted Joseph Muscat’s invitation to sit on the Nationalist Festivities Committee chaired by Lou Bondi, except that he is paid and the committee members are not.

Petra Caruana Dingli’s job was a proper job and most definitely not an ‘iced bun’. She was more than qualified for the job, didn’t need an iced bun, and the concept did not exist then.

I note you have not commented on the fact that Ms Bianchi was given the famous ‘iced bun’ and approved the sort of permits that she previously deplored.

If Joseph Muscat had considered Astrid Vella to be a real threat to any of his plans and a real environmental fighter, he would not have nominated her.

That was a cheap way out, too – he didn’t have to offer her a sinecure on tens of thousands of euros a year, as he did with others.

I have no idea why she is often at the MEPA ‘fighting people’s cases’, and I don’t wish to speculate.
