They still exist at the recipients’ end. Those emails can be traced back to their senders, especially if they were sent out from a private domain, rather than a public one.

Dalli handed over his business interests to his daughters when he became EU Commissioner. As far as I know, the shareholders and directors of Corporate Group Limited are called Claire Gauci Borda and Louisa Dalli, not JOHN Dalli.

If John Dalli was there and Louisa Dalli was not, it implies the business is still John Dalli’s and he controls it though his daughters.

What sort of person would use his daughters as a front?

People going public makes no difference to the retrieval of funds. Failure to deliver the funds because people have gone public is plain and simple retaliation. But it’s not even that – it’s just being used as justification for what they were always going to anyway: steal the money.
