And if we are too lazy to write it and want to use a shortened version as in English then posta-e could work as well.

Actually we have ‘ittre’ for email which is supposedly an abbreviation of ‘ittra elettronika’ as decreed by the Akkademja tal-Malti if I’m not mistaken.

A plural version was also issued but I forget what it was.

Both are utter crap and the far more versatile and understandable ’email’ is acceptable.
