From what I read, Daphne, this ‘American University of Malta’ is nothing more than: a building or buildings in which courses will be given of academic programs probably accredited by some American University. Nothing more, nothing less.

This must be some money laundering scheme.

Maybe Yasser Arafat’s Swiss-stored millions, stolen from his people, need a better way to earn interest or a better way to be laundered.

The Labour Party’s angle is a way to get a chunk of public land into the hands of their backroom boys, and this will provide the necessary cover for the theft-of-public-land caper.

Lies, lies and more lies. So it is pretty clear, thanks amongst others to the formidable David Thake, that De Paul University will only provide the curricula, if at all, but definitely not have their campus on our soil.

The prospects of this ‘American University of Malta’ are therefore mysterious and shadowy, if not actually nonexistent.

Who will tell us the truth about this?

It is most inappropriate to inflate expectations of students and prospective lecturers about this cloudy project.

Dan il-ftehim ġie iffirmat mill-Ministru għall-ekonomija Chris Cardona u l-investitur Hani Saleh, li qed jidher għall-Università DePaul f’Chicago, f’Kastilja.

Din l-Università li mistennija tilqa 4000 student se tinbena f’Marsascala, b’investiment ta’ €115-il miljun.’

I wish some of our so called “journalists” would follow David Thake’s example and ask pertinent questions to the “pertinent” members of the government.

There was much more ado about a Maltese clock.

Am I the only one who noticed that the PM has discreetly dropped the ”Catholic” out of the original , much- touted ”American Catholic University” of Malta?

DePaul might not be opening a campus in Malta, but Alla Kushnir has been appointed Professor and is to head the Department of Belly Dance in the Faculty of Middle Eastern Studies of the American University of Malta. So help us God.
