In the early 1990s, China purchased a colossal amount of Soviet military vehicles and vessels, to build up a stock of steel, foreseeing the explosion of urbanisation and building activity within its own borders.

Since then, the price has slumped, and China can now kill three birds with one stone: get rid of the steel by building a bridge to Gozo, and gain control of third world Malta’s infrastructure, plus make money.

Did I say bridge and Malta? I meant railway and Amazon.

The point of this post is China’s corruption and manipulation of the governments of third world and developing states, where democracy is weak to nonexistent.
