In reply to pete ross. But that's exactly what I meant. There are many decent civil servants, who cannot afford to resign from the public service, who now find themselves having to follow corrupt orders. They have no other choice.

I tend to disagree. There are many career professionals who had been employed on meritocratic grounds during the last decades who would not even think of getting their hands dirty for many reasons, but one of the reasons being that their professionalism does not let them become corrupt.

I know many such professionals in the public service and I know because I was one myself until I resigned when a minister’s clown tried to push me into breaking the rules soon after the 2013 elections.

I cannot reveal details because I have family in the public service, professionals, who would take a beating if I were to give details. That’s how Malta works now.

I know that many have resigned from various government positions due to arrogance, side-lining, stonewalling and threats and the employing of utterly stupid Taghna Lkollers in high positions who do not know anything about how things work let alone can manage the organisation itself.

Anyway, we’re talking about leaders not grass roots and public servants.

The MLP-PL cannot have decent leaders. Decent men and women will feel naturally repelled by the MLP same as corrupt ones are naturally attracted to it.

A lot of decent people found themselves part of a corrupt organisation, Pete Ross. It’s the civil servants and other government employees. They had no choice.

Actually, it sheds further light on the cultural divide between the Two Maltas.

The thirst for revenge is really big here, to the point of unbalancing some men in public life.

But then they come from The Other Malta, Pullicino Orlando being the prime example, for instance.

I agree wholeheartedly with the analysis, but in order to be at all credible about that last sentence ‘Dire Straits’ should first be brave and honest enough as to identify her/himself.

I for one am not about to follow a nickname to the front end of a moving bulldozer.

Spot on, ‘Dire Straits’.

I admit that until a few months ago I didn’t admire Simon Busuttil much, but honestly since the last local councils election, I’ve started to change my mind and opinion.

Busuttil is definitely a whole lot better than Joseph Muscat. I can trust him. That’s the whole difference.

These people are like swine. Their noses are constantly in the trough and most are as crooked as a pig’s tail.

The problem is that Simon is not sanitising the party. He is waiting for the chips to fall one, by one and Jozef is using this against him. The old guard is alive and well.
