They should be telled that in the Malta we arranged everything and now u iva mhux xorta is our national motto. As if the only thing which we lacked was the need to LOWER standards!

”Recent changes to the Education Act have resulted in lower requirements for educational institutions to be recognised as universities.

The changes in the country’s education legislation were introduced in a Legal Notice published just three days after the Heads of Agreement was signed between the government and the Jordanian Sadeen Group, which is investing in the American University of Malta.”

If the American University of Malta was intended to give the University of Malta some competition, then I would strongly suggest to the University of Malta to change its name to ‘European University of Malta’. After all, a European education is just as good as an American one. And Europe is less tacky.
