They could well be after a lot more than a Schengen passport. They are using Malta to bypass EU sanctions. So much for the principle of sincere cooperation.

It will also be interesting to see whether these thousands of new citizens exercise their right to vote. Elections have turned on little more than a thousand votes in the past. We live in interesting times.

I think those numbers are made up.

I also think it might be possible that there are far fewer applying for our passports too.

Call me cynical, but is there any way to get figures from a source that is not the government or working with/for it?
