Perhaps it would be useful to remind the ‘stabbed in the back’ Hon. Mr Speaker that his ‘absolute control’ of the Parliament Building is only on temporary terms.

The permanent head of department, to my knowledge, is the Clerk of the House.

Speakers may come and go for shorter or longer periods at whims of the electorate – and their ‘absolute control’ is strictly limited to House business.
