That wasn’t my point. I don’t agree with selling pirated material personally. I was just saying that before 1992 there were no laws in Malta regarding pirated media.

Having said that, I’m sure anybody with the knowhow would be tempted to make easy money while not breaking any specific laws.

Lm5,000 was a hell of a lot of money in 1981. You could buy a townhouse in Sliema for that price.

This criminal racketeer running an illegal operation and building villas in Madliena without the tax authorities or the police asking questions, while she struggled to run a legal shop. This country is beyond belief at times. You just have to ask yourself who's getting the protection money.

Ah yes, I remember him well. He finally got nabbed and taken to court somewhere in the mid-90s by which time he had his own CD and DVD copying factory.

And yes the correct word is ‘factory’. It was an operation on a huge scale, ironically selling his wares right under the yes of our short-sighted lawmakers. You gotta laugh!
