The Japan Times reporting on China and happens to mention Malta as keeping China company towards the bottom of the Aid Tranparency Index.

”China took last place in an aid transparency index of 68 donor nations released on Wednesday, which said the majority of the world’s donors were not sharing enough information about their activities.

It took last place for the second year in a row in the index compiled by Publish What You Fund, followed by Greece, Cyprus, Lithuania and Malta, all of which were in the bottom 10 last year.”

In reply to saggio. In my opinion, Dr. Gonzi should have turned down the invitation. It would have sent a strong signal of protest against how Renzo Piano was treated, not to mention how Dr. Gonzi himself was treated when the projected started under his premiership.

First Muscat intentionally sent an invitation to the wrong person to inaugurate the new parliament and then he sent a late invitation to the designer and architect of this iconic building.

Is it possible that Muscat does not realise that by ridiculing this event he is also bringing shame on himself?

I went through his masterpiece in Amsterdam a couple of weeks ago.

What a bunch of idiots led by a greater idiot.

Reading through some of the comments on The Malta Independent comments board brought me to despair.

The level of ignorance and idiocy in some of them is beyond belief.

Truly, there is no salvation for this country of backward people. They see more artistic value in the kolonni and statwi tal-festa rather than in a masterpiece conceived by an architect of international repute.

There is no hope for this country, where monuments of the like of the Repubblika (with fork and dghajsa), the Heap of Crap dumped on the people of Birgu at their once beautiful Xatt, and the Stalin-era Monument tal-Haddiema in Msida are considered masterpieces.

I have lost all hope.
