It is most likely that this ‘warm welcome’ was orchestrated by the Labour Party itself, getting people from all over Malta to come and show support for Muscat.

The plan is simple: make the critics think they are in the minority, or better still, make Labour supporters still think they are in the majority.

This is an awful technique used mainly by the likes of ISIS and other extremist groups, who like to use the media to paint a very different picture. Although, lets face it, it isn’t new. The USSR and China did it for years.

When are people going to understand that a politician is only as powerful as you make them?

If a politician comes to you expecting you to give support here there and everywhere, you know “To make it look like there is a lot of support for Muscat”, they should run a mile.

That just goes to show how difficult it is for real democracy to take hold here in Malta. People still think they need to gain favours with politicians in order to survive in Malta, when in fact they shouldn’t be doing that at all.
