I know of a major foreign company that was offered super rates (for premises) at Smart City but turned them down because foreign staff would want to be located in the Ta Xbiex – Sliema area.

No, it’s got a massive population of third-country nationals and a real poverty problem.

The parish priest at St Paul’s Bay runs a sort of charity kitchen in which he accepts donations from hotels and restaurants, of food they can’t use, an distributes it among his parishioners, regardless of religion, incidentally.
