The next general election will be decided by the votes of those who chose Labour in 2013 and who will want to reassure themselves that they were right to do so. Many of them will vote Labour again purely to prove a point to themselves. Some people cannot accept, even privately, that they made a bad decision. It shakes their sense of self and they don’t want to have to doubt their own judgement.
