I have a long list of emails and text messages from people asking to speak to me. I email and text back accordingly.

If they then go off and tell others ‘Jien ghidt lil Daphne, ta’ and then produce an email confirming a meeting, are you going to take that as confirmation that they told me what they said they told me?

I get around 50 emails A DAY from people wanting to tell me things. And I’m not a politician, let alone a party leader.

Politicians are deluged. Party leaders get hundreds a day.

However, I was always under the impression that a whistleblower is somebody who is prepared to stick his neck out to point his finger at irregularities and bring them to light.

I never thought that he could be someone who was up to his eyebrows in fraud, irregularities and sleaze for twenty-odd years and a self-confessed criminal to boot.

Edward Snowden is a whistleblower. Bradley Manning is a whistleblower.
