The EU ombudsman’s remit is issues with EU institutions (commission, esma, eiopa and other EU bodies).

Most of the issues (bar the ginger gorilla in the room and his cage-mates in Parliament) would be within the Malta Ombudsman’s remit though.

An excellent commentary, though I would point out that Greece’s present predicament has not been caused by its newly elected government, but by a succession of governments, of all hues, who have been reckless.

All these governments were elected by the people, who, in the final analysis, must also bear their share of responsibility for voting them into power.

Mathew S, it’s not that nobody noticed but the subject is difficult for the majority to grasp. It is difficult to keep people following on this subject, unlike the Zonqor Point project, for example.

I would like to know whether the Opposition can take any serious and legal steps to stop or reverse this action. But how can you stop the government from being a surety?
