It’s got nothing to do with education. My husband was raised in the south and is anything but morally corrupt or uneducated. His sister is a lawyer, hence educated, but takes her life-blood from Facebook. My own father was highly educated, but morally corrupt to the core. And he was not Maltese.

In my humble opinion it all boils down to achievement in one’s personal life.

If a person feels the need to tell all and sundry that he can afford a Ralph Lauren shirt, it says it all.

He has not achieved much, really, has he?

I can afford to buy a container-load of these shirts (and all the people who know me are aware of this) but I would never even dream of buying a single one.

I buy M&S, possibly ‘Reduced”.

As well they should. Some parents don’t know where to butt out.

Teenagers more often than not decline friend requests from their own parents..

It is in a way.

Having been raised in the south (not generalising but their is a larger majority of uneducated hamalli where I come from), I can actually see this happening live on a daily basis, especially when comparing my friends’ facebook pages who come from educated backgrounds against the ones who never really bothered to educate themselves.

An example of this is Toni Taliana, the chap who ran over and murdered a cyclist whilst drink driving a couple of years back. After every court hearing, he updates his Facebook profile with comments on how he’s innocent and that nobody should judge him because nobody is perfect bla bla bla…

What does he get? An average of a 150 likes from his hamalli followers with comments wishing him luck and how much of a ‘kink’ he is.

I know it’s a different scenario from the ‘Kink of the Lants’ but it goes to show how morally corrupt & uneducated a huge percentage of our population is.

Can you imagine being ‘friends’ with people from your own household?

Better still, can you ignore the hilariously real possibility of them declining your ‘friend’ request?
