As you describe the dinosaurs of the Mintoff period being given special attention, so have those known to be unbendingly against been the first pre-election targets.

Everything in the Labour mob network has been put into place for certain people to be rendered inoperative, effectively neutered.

That, in the long term, is worse than a beating. It is the sustained effort to destroy a person and a family. Not one family, but the hand-picked ones. Those reserved for below-the-belt treatment no matter the number of years that have passed.

No need to look far. It is horrible to wake up to being the hunted.
