Of course it is acceptable for a woman to wear a wig.

That is because it is not normal for a woman to be bald. And also because decorative procedures are acceptable in women – like make-up, hair dye and intricate hairstyling – that are not acceptable in men.

All public figures have children, Maria, bar one or two exceptions.

It’s not the people who criticise his wig-wearing that cause problems for his daughter, but the wig-wearing itself.

That is the one of the most important reasons why he should not do it.

Alopecia is no reason for a man to wear a wig. People can’t distinguish between alopecia and normal male baldness.

Alopecia is a reason for a woman to wear a wig. Alfred Sant is not a woman.

Alfred Sant is a politician and a representative of the people, Maria. If he doesn’t want people discussing whether he should wear a wig or not, he shouldn’t wear one.

And of course he shouldn’t wear one.

Wigs on men are totally unacceptable. This is not solely my opinion but the accepted convention in every society in every part of the world.

Wigs for men are as unacceptable as lipstick on men and provoke the same reactions in observers, that there is something wrong with the man in question, psychologically.

Rubbish, that’s a rumour started to justify the fact that the Leader of the Opposition/prime minister wore a wig, because there was no justifying it otherwise.

The first thing a doctor will tell you about a ‘condition’ is to let it breathe.

Any condition he has will only be made worse by being covered with a heavy wig. I’m sure you of all people know that.

So no, he doesn’t have a condition.

And if he has scarring or similar, then let’s be rational: no scarring can possibly look worse than a wig.

Scarring is normal. People accept it. People do not accept wigs.
