My girlfriend regularly shows me the questions people ask in that group, and sub-literate is putting it lightly.

The level of ignorance is shocking, and they have the same vote as you and me.

I’m 38, and yes, my ideal outing is somewhere nice, with my wife (and maybe some select friends), where I can spend more than usual on something better.

But, once in a while, yes, I enjoy this sort of thing too. It might be down to having different circles of friends of different ages, some of whom are still getting married.

And some of which still enjoy this sort of thing. I just adapt myself to the group I am with. This is probably one of the few occasions I am not totally agreeing with you! Never thought it would happen :-)

Actually I agree with you on most of this too – I just like the occasional “mandrata” too….

I have yet to meet somebody over the age of 23 who enjoys stag nights (or hen parties). Everybody else hates them but feels the need to do it.

Now that people are getting married in their late 20s and 30s, this whole ‘stag’ and ‘hen’ business should fall off the radar.

It only makes sense for young brides and grooms.

Not at all, it’s not somewhere I would go with my wife for example. But if you are with a good group of friends celebrating say a Stag Night, or something of the sort then yes, it can turn out to be a good evening out. You need to see it in the context of the occasion you are there for.

You know, I really despair of this country – how on earth do you define a good evening out without factoring in the atmosphere, the feel of the place and the other people there?

If you want to eat lots of (bad) food and drink lots of alcohol for 30 euros, just stay home. You’ll probably make better food.

Things must be really ugly at home if Cavett’s Place is better. That’s what I say to myself when I see hideous, horrid places packed to the point of unpleasantness with rough people stuffing their faces with bad or indifferent food.

If you don’t like something, you don’t sign it. If you sign it, you’re approving it.

Dirt cheap compared to what you need to spend nowadays for a day by the pool or to get smashed at any Paceville outlet.

I won’t go into the legality of it or not as had no idea Cavett had anything to do with Gaffarena, but it’s a good evening out especially for large groups.
