As far as I knew the reality was Bortex shifted all operations to Tunisia except for the empty and old concreted building handed over to leisure clothing some 8 years ago. That’s it. Workers are part of the “factory up to standard”.

That’s because it was built as a factory, Leisure Clothing found it ready and moved in with the support of the Malta government decades ago.

What goes on there, however, is no different to what goes on in sweatshops, and the migrant labourers are treated no differently either.
