In reply to Brian. Actually Miccoli's salary is that of 36.2k per month. This is made possible by the donation of 1 million euros annually from a wealthy French buisnessman, who has been doing so for the past 4 years. Meanwhile other squad players are on a salary of between 3k-4k obviously depending on the player's skills. One has to also consider cash bonuses to be gained by such players every time they score a goal, also every time the teams win a match against an important rival eg: Hibernians, Valletta and a few others.

Not sure if true or not but the word around is that Miccoli is on 35k a month with Birkirkara – one wonders where the club gets the money from.

When the news broke last Thirsday about the Malta-Mafia connection, at about 8.30am the Police Commissioner Michael Cassar was seen in shorts and T-shirt busily painting a piece of furniture in his garage at his home in Zabbar.

He might have been on vacation leave but surely the day’s events warranted his presence at his office?
