Of course they can. The type of client who wants a Passport is not unconnected from his business type and source of funds.

There are minor firms aggressively trying to sell passports like there’s no tomorrow – typically because they have little else to offer, no reputation on the line, and are looking to make a quick buck.

At the other end of the spectrum there are large firms which cannot tell a long-standing client to look elsewhere should they want a Maltese passport. Equating the two approaches/scenarios, and the respective clientele, is disingenuous.

My God, it’s so easy to sell things to Maltese people because there is absolutely no cultural awareness of how things are sold, from coffee to cars to political parties to passports.

Maltese people are SO gullible, like natives with Captain Cook’s beads. It’s unbelievable.

It’s not an ‘IIP’. It’s the SALE OF MALTESE CITIZENSHIP.

The government wants us to say ‘IIP’ because it doesn’t want people to say ‘sale of citizenship’, but it’s the sale of citizenship all the same.

‘IIP’ means NOTHING. People say it because they are too damned lazy to say or write three words when three letters, they think, will do.

It never fails to astonish me how easy it is to feed propaganda into the system.

Now even those who oppose the sale of Maltese citizenship are calling it ‘IIP’, which masks the facts.

The Labour Party really knows how to take advantage of the lazy Maltese predilection for an acronym and the refusal to write something out in full, even if it is a name with two surnames, when letters will do.

The Labour government WANTS you to say ‘IIP’ because it DOESN’T WANT you to say ‘selling citizenship’.
