In Malta, censorship affects a lot of things, not just pornshops (which many people don’t even care about anyway) but also remarks and comments made in general, like the mocking of religion and ‘persuni ta’ distinzjoni’.

The liberal factor I see about all this is the weakening of censorship, which will automatically mean that pornshops will be allowed to operate, as well as not getting into trouble for making fun of the Pope, like a few years ago. So in the end,it is a good thing.

Some of the earliest clowns were known as Court jesters and they performed for royalty and used to make the King and his courtiers laugh at their funny stories and antics.

The first great clown of modern times was called Joseph Grimaldi who appeared in London in the early 1800s.

Joseph Grimaldi was so famous that since then clowns have been known as “Joeys.”

But calling the Pope an incompetent clown is now an essential part of living in an Owen-progressive democracy.
