Nomal paradigns can never be applied to China because China is not a normal country (not that Malta is, but there you go).

The speedy rise in the stock market wasn’t backed by economic growth (China’s economic growth had slowed). The market rise was stimulated and encouraged by government And it was government that ordered the crash to stop by issuing instructions to not sell, but not before the market fell further because government refused to scknowledge there was a problem.

Predictably, none of this was the government’s fault. To admit there is a problem is to lose face. So the public was blamed. They acted irrationally, government did not. Foreigners (not Chinese and especially. It Chinese officials) interfered in the market, etc.

The government’s anti-freedom internet army immedistely got busy cleaning the internet in China of unharmonious terms like stock market crash.

So that leaves us with the inability to believe any information coming out of China and make accurate predictions – not that we should ever have believed them in the first place.

I think it’s a poor show and a waste of party money at best. It will achieve nothing.

Why is the Leader of the Opposition flying off to China without telling the stakeholders – i.e. us – the voters, what the visit is all about?

“Niddiskutu kwistjonijiet importanti” might be enough for the subliterate Xarabank crowd, but not for the rest of us.

This “we know best, f*ck you peasants” is the reason parties lose elections.
