I am also wary of the figures that are never mentioned. Everyone uses the GDP, the GDP per capita, and the average wage. But we never talk about things like the median wage, or about income disparity. I’m interested in the statistical spread, not just the position of the peak.

So the number of jobs in private sector employment needs to be nuanced by other facts. If the salaries are low compared to, say, the European average, or even to the national average, then those people will still be poor, and the economy will still do badly.

Please tell me exactly where my opinion has not been valid. I know that economic theory is a complex thing, and different schools of thought can be in contradiction, so it doesn’t surprise me at all that you think some of my views are rubbish. But I need to know where.

If you feel qualified and able to comment on economic affairs, then let me not stop you. But not everyone’s opinion on everything is valid – my opinion on medical analysis would be totally irrelevant, as an example. Only you know what you are qualified to pass a relevant opinion on.

Totally right. Whoever did business or knows how Asian countries operate, particularly China, will know that Chinese are always Chinese, and they will protect their country’s interests.

Overseas, the Chinese objective is to occupy relevant positions in wherever country they live. So for the Chinese she is an asset, and for the Maltese government, just a show of weakness and lack of knowledge.

It is also known that Chinese do not respect weakness.
