1. People are not dying of starvation BECAUSE of borders.

2. The Jews example is different from your original statement above that people have a right to go everywhere they want; the Jews were a targeted minority.

3. Your world view revolves around keeping the stomach full (who am I to change your view?)

I am going to disagree here.

Yes, life is unfair. I am with you there. Part of growing up is learning wha those ‘rules’ are and doing the best one can with what one has.

However, when it comes to the topic of asylum seekers and refugees, life is needlessly unfair.

Personally I don’t believe in visas, borders or any of the politics that surrounds immigration. I think they are oppressive. They are an excersize of power over life.

The imaginary borders that exist in the world may be necessary in order to determine where one country’s law starts and the other finishes, and perhaps some people like living where the law is X whereas some like to live where the law is Y. In effect, it gives people options.

However, stopping people from being able to move to a country, an area, that is more beneficial to them is to have power over their lives. This, I think, is unethical.

It is human nature to look for a place to live that is going to give one the opportunity to prosper and do well. We set up shop, live there, and when it suddenly doesn’t work out, we move on to a place where it will.

Yes, there are many refugees. No, one country cannot take them all. However, when it comes to immigration the problem isn’t numbers, it’s management, or rather mismanagement.

I don’t see why we shouldn’t work to find a solution that benefits everyone and gives people a chance.

Well said. And the American culture is somewhat to blame, due to their capitalism high expectations, which then show off the few who ‘made it’, but however don’t talk about the far many others left behind, some even struggling. A very interesting perspective indeed.

It was about how formidably, or impressively, the young girl managed to portray the dilemma, or plight, of the refugees.

Why does a Palestinian want to stay in Germany? There are millions of Palestinians still in Palestine. They have their problems, internal and eternal, but they still manage to live there. Palestine is not Somalia or Eritrea. Or Azerbaijan.
