It takes two to tango. The person expecting to be allowed to jump the queue and the company and its employees who discriminate against the paying public to lick the ass of that arrogant person.

Where is the mainstream media asking Gozo Channel about its policy to deal with those who jump the queue?

And it’s not a matter of social background, either, though that plays a part. In 1986 I got out of the car in the Gozo ferry queue and gave Foreign Minister Alex Sceberras Trigona the bollocking from hell for barging the entire line and driving straight up to the docking bay when we had been waiting for around two hours (it was 1986, taht il-Lejber). There was a frozen moment when neither he nor his coterie of thugs knew what to do – the thugs began fumbling around and then decided to back off. They stayed at the head of the queue, but at least I got that off my chest and they got some inkling that their behaviour was far from normal.

I think this chap right here is the perfect embodiment of the average Maltese man, with his crude ways, poor articulation, tacky hairstyles, and atrocious clothes.

Not to mention his patronising way of addressing the elderly and people in general – and yes, the average Maltese loves being patronised.

You have to hand it to him, he’s a walking vote magnet. In some weird way, I kind of admire him.
