You miss the point. I’m not comparing corruption styles here. Merely point point that the Maltese economic boom includes a lot of mafia-like activity, and everyone happily goes along with it.

If there is no political will (as aptly put in your earlier post) putting all the tools available to all the required good investigators and prosecutors, will still not get the job done.

The political will reigns supreme in Malta, and unless the total separation of the prosecution from the Police and the Attorney-General is put into place, with its own guaranteed Constitutional independence and budget, sadly we will not get anywhere and organised crime will ultimately control the island.

It’s not that ‘Malta does not have the legal instruments to combat the real nature of mafiosita’.

It is that it lacks the will to fight the Maltese (and Sicilian) Mafia abetted by the most inept government that would rather abet corruption than fight it.
