A director of porn films on a late night discussion programme some months ago, on one of the Italian channels , described in a very matter of fact way how auditions are carried out for aspiring male and female actors in such films.

John Suda’s behaviour fits the bill beautifully.

You left out “strips them naked” – and I’m not being pedantic here. God knows how one would feel blindfold and naked, whilst at a pervert’s mercy, in a locked room.

Fully clothed would have been a lot less daunting, I’m sure.

(NB I wanted to put “naked” in italics, but couldn’t work out how to)

Martin Scicluna’s problem is that he was born gay in the 1930s.

The result of 80 years of deep-rooted self-suppression masked by two marriages is terminal bitchiness.

Had he been born into a more enlightened environment, or been braver himself, he would have been Quentin Crisp, though nowhere near as amusing.
