No, the power station will not cost €370 million to build. It will cost €600 million according to the cost schedule below:

€125 million – LNG jetty and regasification construction contract, J & P Avax.

€175 million – power station construction contract, Siemens.

€275 million – conversion of LNG tanker to floating storage unit, Bumi Armada.

€30 million – consideration due to Malta government for purchase of Malta Power and Gas from Enemalta.

Here we go again. You are confusing a BANK GUARANTEE with a guarantor.

A bank guarantee is what you present when tendering for a project and need to show that you a financially sound.

A guarantor is what you need when the bank won’t give you a loan because you don’t have sufficient collateral. So you find some sucker to use his own collateral to guarantee your debt and who stands to gain nothing but lose his arse from doing that.

Why do you think most guarantors are parents of the person taking out the loan? Because only a parent would do something so dumb out of love.

You can’t blame the schools for everything. I went to a terrible school, didn’t go to university until I was 29, and don’t recall ever being so catastrophically ignorant.

People are responsible for their own education and parents are responsible for making sure that their children know about things.
