The cut-outs you mention are called ‘peep-toe’ and are even more unacceptable than sandals.

Silver shoes are TOTALLY inappropriate for the head of state. Gold shoes would be, too.

So that leaves black.

I agree that patent leather is not the best choice, but perhaps there wasn’t time to have a pair made in matt black satin.

The president’s aides should see to it that five pairs should be made for her at once in different heels sizes as they will come in very useful.

Actually yes, delicate heels look ridiculous on a heavy woman but I don’t agree that she is wearing the correct shoes.

There are summer shoes for heavy women, usually with a small cut out for toes (barely there) and sometimes with a dip on the inside heel to make them lighter.

Not to mention that if it is an evening do she could have worn silver coloured ones or if a morning do, nude colour would be an alternative. Better than wearing winter shoes on a summer dress

They are heavy because the head of state is heavy. The heavier you are, the heavier your shoes have to be.

Women who weigh a lot (either because they are obese or because they are very tall and big-framed) cannot wear flimsy shoes because they do not provide the necessary support and will also wreck the feet.
