The promise to deliver cheap electricity was just a sop to the unthinking, like that ‘sailing the Silk Route’ yach that had the Times simpering earlier this week. The grand plan was always energy redistribution. You only need look at China’s grand plan to understand that.

A bank guarantee is entirely a different class of animal to a government standing as guarantor for a private company.

A bank guarantee is – AS IT SAYS ON THE TIN – a guarantee provided by THE BANK to A VENDOR on behalf of ITS CLIENT.
