1992 249 votes, not elected
1996 1034 votes, elected on the 3rd count
1998 2646 votes, elected on the 3rd count
2003 3037 votes, elected on the 4th count
2008 1531 votes, elected through casual election
2013 341 votes, elected through casual election

In 2013, his second count (after Joseph Muscat’s excess were counted) was 1409.

19 years in parliament and still can’t wear a jacket properly.

Hardly a case of everyone being in awe of him.
