Substitute ‘Muslims’ for any other religion, nation, ethnicity or citizenship and maybe you will see.

I have been to many ‘no go’ areas in many places, and the fact that I have been there means that they are not no-go areas at all.

On the other hand, there are several places in Malta where I do not go, because of the hostile and unpleasant behaviour of my countrymen.

Saudi Arabia is a theocracy. Malta is a democracy.

And I am old enough to remember – as indeed you are too – growing up in a Malta where Protestants and Anglicans (of whom there were very many in Malta at the time) were spoken of as heretics and where ‘Ketlicks’ were warned not to so much as set foot inside an evil, heretical ‘Protestant’ church.

Malta only has a very large Anglican cathedral because the British were in charge at the time it was built. We wouldn’t have one otherwise. Back then, it was the evil Protestants who were the feared enemy. Muslims didn’t even register on the horizon.
