I’m not going through all of that again.

Parents should never attempt to teach morality/right/wrong/civility to their children through the medium of religion.

You simply NEVER know whether your children are going to be religiously inclined or not. If you attempt to teach them right and wrong through religion when they are naturally sceptical, you’ll have an uphill battle.

Teach all of that separately, then whether they turn out to be religious or not is completely irrelevant.

This is something I write about regularly, Alex – that the moral failure in our society owes its roots almost entirely to the fact that Maltese people are not taught the difference between wrong and right outside the context of religion. They grow up, they ditch the religion, and they have absolutely no moral compass or backbone. This is right across the social spectrum.
