This is simply about knowing how you should behave when you hold public office.

You evidently have a very narrow and stereotypical view of liberalism. By the same token, being a conservative would mean believing that a woman’s place is in the kitchen.

What is happening, and not only in Malta, is that today, a so-called liberal society expects everyone to celebrate and promote difference, whatever that means, because all traces of normal civilised behaviour are being eliminated as traces of a former repressive society.

Human beings were always human, and thus not immune from human weaknesses; it is the modern attitude of turning weaknesses into a role-model morality that is changing.

I have said “modern” because I have in mind the current generations, but there have been historical periods when public behaviour was very much the same.
