I was being ironic. We are &#039;trading&#039; in illicit trade with Libya. So are the other four states. 

On this side of things, what happens to the money earned, the profit made, by the Maltese section of the smuggling ring is not known, but a good guess would be that it has to be washed, cleaned at some &#039;launderette&#039;, and ends up mostly pumping up Muscat&#039;s construction bubble, which will implode one fine day, and that&#039;s a certainty.

That it could be contributing to our GDP may well be true, GDP that may quickly disappear as fast as it came.
