Young children don’t ask about sexual relationships.

They have other things on their minds.

Older children can work it out for themselves, just as they can work out the sexual relationship between two people of the opposite sex.

We agree that children should be left alone, but we don’t agree on the reasons why.

I am in fact saying that it is not appropriate to go into this.

If the books get to be distributed and we teach in schools about same-sex couples lesson after lesson and about the variation of families that exist, their mind will wander and we will eventually be confronted by a very legitimate question.

And that is about the sexual relationship of same-sex couples. Call me close-minded, but I would not want to answer such a question.

Why on earth is there this sudden need to explain relationships of any kind to children?

Nobody explained relationships to children back in our day, and we had no trouble at all working it out for ourselves.
