The figures in the Xin Hua report were actually 100 million and 1.5 million and not 1 billion and 1.5 billion as translated. I have corrected them.

If you read the post again, you will see that it was sent to me by a reader of this website who is actually Chinese.

That is how this reader picked up on that Xin Hua news agency piece in the first place – by reading it.
