Muslims do not starve during Ramadan. After sunset, they eat and drink to their heart’s content, sometimes to excess. Eid el Fitr, the end of Ramadan, is always an occasion for big dinners, for those who can afford it. Muslims took the idea of fasting from Judaism just as Christians did. I never could understand why people cannot eat the flesh of mammals and birds but can eat fish. Chemically, the meat of mammals, birds and fish is all protein and animal tissue. These ideas all belong to a pre-scientific age.

The ignorance we are talking about here cannot be addressed and tackled by journalists.

It is the result of a massive failure in the home environment and schools.

Nothing can be done about it. You just have to fight them off and make sure that they do not take over, which they have pretty much done already.

The burqa and niqab are completely unacceptable in any civilised country not only because of security concerns but also because it is completely incompatible with European (and non Islamic) culture.

France and Holland have banned this type of attire and hopefully the rest of Europe and the western world will follow suit.

Yes, it is illegal to conceal your face in public outside carnival days.

But my point is that it is not up to you to accept it or not.

And unlike you, I do not see it from a ‘security’ perspective but from a women’s rights perspective.
