I was the one who said it, in my column in The Malta Independent.

And the usual suspects posted comments beneath wondering out loud why “she” had worked it out as 22 million.

Thank God for a sense of perspective.

Whilst we’re at it, I can’t understand why the newspapers and the Opposition continue to say that €11 million are what have been lost on this road.

Someone has said it before me and the logic appears to have gone completely unnoticed:

If €11 million are not going to be covered by the EU, and we fork out the missing €11 million that would have been earmarked for other projects – or should have been – then it’s €22 million that we are now short of.

€22 million, not €22 million.
