I’ve always known that, even without the research, because I have lived my entire life in Malta, where people are spectacularly amoral despite the whole of society being framed in a religious context.

Almost 24% were Christian, 43% Muslim, and 27.6% non-religious. The numbers of Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, agnostic and other children were too small to be statistically valid.”

But that wouldn’t apply to all religious parents.

I would rather think it would be obsession and fanaticism which take control of children’s innocence and naivety, that leads them to meanness.
