I know what he means. But I can’t abide the use of the term ‘death of innocents’ to refer to people over the age of 15.

The proper use of ‘innocents’ is only for children, for reasons that should be obvious.

And with adults, it’s irrelevant whether they are innocent or sinful. You still can’t kill them.

I trust you realise that even war is governed by law.

There has to be a formal declaration of war (as distinct from a throwaway statement) and from there on in, the Geneva Convention takes over.

Also, wars are between states, the only exception being civil wars, which are a different kind of animal.
