Malti wasn’t directly referring to you or blue collar workers in general.

He was talking about workers getting jobs they’re not qualified for.

He was not calling blue-collar workers unskilled, H.P. Baxxter, rather he was making reference to unskilled and blue-collar workers that DO get promoted to ranks they aren’t qualified for.

I’m starting to think that you two blue collar-workers either don’t know how to read or are very selective with what you comprehend.

We need more blue collar workers and fewer lawyers.

That’s what happens with Labour. The unskilled and blue collar workers get promoted to chief of staff, communications co-ordinator and other jobs created specifically for the boys while the unemployable get employed in the lower ranks.

The end result is invariably a super-inflated civil service, making fools of themselves and occupying jobs which are way beyond them.

Take the Valletta summit translator, Phyllis tac-Chogm, the previous Police Commissioner, Silvio tan-Naxos, the one who designed the Monti stands and the one who decided that they should be placed near the Parliament… and a hundred more.

But, of course, we boast of record unemployment levels. Who cares for standards?
