Really? Have you been checking the news lately? I haven’t seen crowds of reporters descending on this little island.

Or just hop over to the BBC website, and try finding more info there. I suggest you consider that it is more likely that hundreds of thousands (ie the spouses left behind and their immediate family) know about the event and even they are not glued to their television sets.

Cameron might be gearing up for war but he cannot neglect the economy and, in the current circumstances, he certainly cannot dismiss the Commonwealth out of hand.

If Britain stumbles out of the European Union, Britain will try to make up for it by attempting to turn the Commonwealth into something a bit more dynamic and relevant than it is now. As much as some Britons like to bash the EU, the Commonwealth would be no substitute, particularly because it is made up of so many dysfunctional countries which barely have a market economy, but they will try if they find themselves with few alternatives.

The smart move would, of course, be staying in the EU and making it better.

You do realise that Britain alone has a population of about 64 million people, right?

A fraction of that watching it would constitute millions. The Commonwealth encapsulates about 2.4 billion people..

Saying that millions are watching it is not a stretch of the imagination at all.

The all round lack of attention to detail is incredible.

There was ample time to sweep away the puddle that formed on the carpet but no one noticed.

The Queen was more preoccupied with avoiding the puddle than with greeting the Prime Minister and his stooges.

Honestly, what bunglers. Not fit for purpose.
